Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is a modern image format with great compression, supported by all modern browsers. But many older tools, photo apps and platforms still expect JPG. Converting to JPG makes the file work everywhere a normal photo file is expected.
JPG is also the safest format to share with non-technical recipients who may have older software. If your goal is universal compatibility, JPG remains the safest choice.
Quality and transparency
WebP can include an alpha channel (transparency). JPG cannot. Transparent areas are filled with white in the resulting JPG so the image stays clean. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG instead.
