Image compression tools

Smaller image files mean faster pages, lower bandwidth costs, and uploads that fit under file-size limits. Our compressor runs entirely in your browser using a Web Worker, so the UI stays snappy even on large images.

For photos, JPG and WebP are both excellent compressed formats. WebP usually wins on file size at similar visual quality, but JPG remains the most compatible choice when you need to share an image with anyone.

For PNG screenshots and graphics, the easiest big saving is to convert to WebP rather than to compress as PNG. PNG cannot be quantized in the browser without a heavy library, so we don't offer it in v1.

Use the quality slider when you have a quality target. Use target-size mode when you have a hard upload limit such as a 2 MB email attachment cap.
