Why convert JPG to WebP?
WebP usually produces files 25–35 percent smaller than JPG at visually identical quality. For websites and apps, that means faster page loads and lower bandwidth costs without a noticeable drop in image quality.
WebP is supported in all modern browsers. The only limitation is encoding: very old Safari versions cannot create WebP files. The tool will tell you if your browser cannot encode WebP.
When to use WebP
WebP is the best choice for images on the web — product photos, blog images, hero banners, anything that doesn't need the universal compatibility of JPG. For sharing with people, JPG is still safer because some apps still don't accept WebP.
